and playing Pavarotti's music
Hello everyone!
![]() THE LATE, GREAT LUCIANO PAVAROTTI! 1935-2007 The best Tenor I have ever heard died yesterday at the age of 71, after a long battle with cancer. The opera singer died in his hometown in Italy and will be buried there this coming Saturday. I very rarely pays tribute to any celebrity after his or her own death. Yet, Pavarotti was absolutely one of my most favorite entertainers and always will be. He was the ONLY singer Pavarotti was known as a perfectionist and a challenger. He is always wanting to improve himself in his music. And believe it or not, he was like a frightened child, before going on stage to perform. I enjoyed watching him last night on WLIW (Channel 21) and I hope that all of the PBS stations will continue to show his programs for a long time to come. "I will bring them to their feet," Pavarotti always used to say, and that he did, every single time. On his last performance in NY City, he had a standing ovation that lasted fifteen minutes.
