1935-2007

The best Tenor I have ever heard died yesterday at the age of 71, after a long battle with cancer. The opera singer died in his hometown in Italy and will be buried there this coming Saturday. 

 I very rarely pays tribute to any celebrity after his or her own death.  Yet, Pavarotti was absolutely one of my most favorite entertainers and always will be.  He was the ONLY singer, who would give me goose bumps or bring me to tears when he sings.  I am mourning today as though I knew him personally.  This Humanitarian has touched so many people from all walks of life with his music and I think that is how everyone should live their lives today.  Helping others with the gift, God has given them on this earth and everyone does have a talent.

  Pavarotti was known as a perfectionist and a challenger.  He is always wanting to improve himself in his music.  And believe it or not, he was like a frightened child, before going on stage to perform.  I enjoyed watching him last night on WLIW (Channel 21) and I hope that all of the PBS stations will continue to show his programs for a long time to come.

"I will bring them to their feet," Pavarotti always used to say, and that he did, every single time.  On his last performance in NY City, he had a standing ovation that lasted fifteen minutes.  Well, my dear Pavarotti, a standing ovation for you will last forever in my book.  God has lent us the head of his angels' choir for seventy-one years and now, he has called him back home.  May you rest in piece, Senor. Luciano Pavarotti.
